As a general rule, primary, secondary and higher education is free in Iran, although private schools and universities do exist and are permitted to charge tuition fees. According to the government figures, over 95% of Iranian children currently receive primary and secondary education. All schools are singular and there are no co education institutions.

Cost of studying and living in Iran

In Iran there are two types of universities, private as well as government. Though the government universities have negligible fee, the fees of private universities are expensive.The cost varies from university to university and also depends upon the location.Private Universities have an expense of around US $2000. After which the student has to decide about accommodation. For which students have 4 options

1)To rent an apartment (will cost around US $750).

2)To become a paying guest (will cost around US $500 with food included).

3)To rent a room in student’s residence (will cost around US $300).

4)Or to live in a hostel.

Apart from that there are daily travelling charges as well as food, entertainment, gym and many more charges which will cost students about $150-$300 monthly (depending upon the ability of spending of an individual).

Iran is the gateway for the students to enter the great continent. Iran Visas are issued on producing the following official documents, which include,

•Passport (Valid at least for 6 months)

•Application form (for Student visa)

•Letter of acceptance form from respective Iran Institute (for Student Visa)

•Passport size photo (1 in number)

•Letter from Employer (in case of professional visitors)

•Letter from friends or relatives (in case of visitors willing to stop at Iran for more than more than 90 days)

•Medical Examination Report.

Documents supporting financial support

Upon submitting the application candidates are also required to submit a copy of their passport. Original passports would only be required for authentication. The embassy has the reserve right for asking any other authentication. Incomplete applications would not be accepted. Visa processing depends upon the nationality of the candidate. All regulations consular fees or services are subject to change without any prior notice.
